Come and meet Jesus
UNDERSTANDING SALVATION
There are certain points we all need to understand about the salvation in Jesus. Before I begin, let me state that the life of Christ and the salvation that He brings is the ONLY religion in the world that secular writers of Jesus’ day wrote and verified His birth, Life, death and resurrection proving Jesus’ claims to be true. Without even opening the bible we can prove not only His life but also resurrection.
we all are sinners and stand under the judgment of God.
Romans 3:23 says “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
First
God loves us, and Jesus came to make forgiveness and salvation possible. He died on the cross as the complete sacrifice for our sins. He took on Himself the judgment that we deserve.
Romans 5:8 says “But God commended his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Second
God in His grace offers us the gift of eternal life. But like any gift, it becomes ours ONLY when we respond to it and receive it.
Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”
Third
Fourth
Salvation is intimately linked to Jesus and the cross. Jesus’ virgin birth, by the miraculous intervention of the Holy Spirit, meant that He did not inherit a sinful human nature like we did. Neither did Jesus commit any sin during His lifetime. Jesus became the only perfect Man, and as such, He was uniquely qualified to put into action God’s plan of salvation for mankind. On the cross, Jesus took the punishment of our sin. He suffered the judgment and condemnation of death that our sinful nature and deeds deserve.
Isaiah 7:14 says “Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.”
Fifth
faith is essential for salvation. But there are various kinds of beliefs or faith, and not all are linked to salvation. In the New Testament, faith means more than intellectual belief. It involves trust and commitment. I may say that I believe a bridge will hold my weight. But I really believe it only when I commit myself to it and walk across it. Salvation faith involves an act of commitment and trust, in which you commit your life to Jesus Christ and trust Him alone as your Savior and Lord.
Romans 4:5 says “However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness.”
Ephesians 2:8-9 says “or it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.
Finally
Salvation is free and available for everyone. Jesus didn't come to save just the rich or famous but rather He came for everyone - Rich and poor, Famous and not so famous. He wants you as you are with your faults and failures. He alone will rescue you from the vises that you may have. He is here for anyone that calls on His name.
Romans 10:13 says “for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Asking Jesus into your life is the most important decision you’ll ever make. To ask Him into your life simply pray this prayer or something like this in your own words.
“Father, I come to you as a sinner and recognize that I have sinned. I believe that your Son Jesus came to earth, That He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and that He was executed on the cross for my sin. I believe that He died, that He spent three days in hell preaching the gospel and that He then rose on the third day to reign as Lord of lords and King of kings and that He now sets at the right hand of God as ruler and King. I ask that you will wash me in the blood of Christ and cleanse me of my sins and make me a new creation in Jesus. I ask Jesus into my heart and I surrender my life to Hm. Fill me with your Spirit that I may serve you. In Jesus name, Amen”
As you begin your new journey if you have failures or addictions ask Jesus for His help and guidance to deliver you from those vises. Remember this is a journey – no one is perfect.
